The regional office of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) at Dehradun organized Regional Cooperative Excellence and Merit Award function last week in the city and awards were given away by the Uttarakhand Cooperative Secretary Dr. Meenakshi Sundaram to the awardees.
A total of seven awards were given in different categories including PACCS Societies, Dairy Sector, Organic Sector, and others. The winners were given cheques and mementos.
In the Dairy Sector category, the first prize was given to Adarsh Milk Producer Cooperative Society, Pratappur, Udham Singh Nagar, and the second prize was given to Women Milk Production Cooperative Society, Basgar, Shakti Farm, Udham Singh Nagar.
In the Organic Sector category, Himalayan Organic Industrial Production Cooperative Society Ltd., Purda Bageshwar won the first prize.
Addressing the gathering, Sundaram said that a lot of work has been done in the field of cooperatives in
NCDC Regional Director Deepa Srivastava informed that NCDC is working in various sectors. The officers of the regional office had visited 700 primary co-ops of Uttarakhand in the last three years.
On this occasion, Registrar of Cooperative Societies Alok Kumar Pandey, Nodal Officer State Integrated Cooperative Development Project Anand Shukla, Project Director Milk Jaideep Arora, Project Director Fisheries Shri HK Purohit, Regional Deputy Director of NCDC Amit Kumar Nigam, and others were present.
According to the NCDC website, up to 31.03.2021, NCDC has provided total disbursements of Rs.311.72 crore benefitting various cooperative projects in Uttarakhand.
