Continuing with its commitment for sports the leading dairy cooperative Amul has signed up as the official sponsor for the Indian contingent to the Rio Olympics 2016. The cooperative will launch a series of advertising campaigns for milk and other dairy products to promote this association.
Earlier, it had sponsored athletes participating in the 2012 London Olympic. Indian dairy cooperative giant had also lent financial support to the Indian contingent in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the 17th Asian Games in South Korea.
Making the best of the eyeballs usually available in such high-voltage sports Amul will launch a series of advertising campaigns for milk and various dairy products to promote this association in the coming months. Amul has embarked upon an ‘Eat Milk with Every Meal’ campaign.
R S Sodhi, MD, GCMMF said, “Amul is committed to strengthening the Olympic movement in India and encourage the young generation from all over the country to take up Olympic sports.”
GCMMF MD said milk is nature’s original energy drink and helps in building the physical and mental strength of the athletes.
According to Press Trust of India, GCMMF, which markets milk and dairy products under Amul brand, will invest Rs 3,000 crore over the next four years on its expansion plans. The cooperative giant is planning to set up new plants and expand existing facilities.
