GCMMF verdict in January now

After hearing arguments of both the parties, Gujarat High Court has reserved verdict on Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation’s plea seeking implementation of the no-confidence resolution adopted by a majority of its board members against chairman Vipul Chaudhary.

The court will deliver its verdict towards the beginning of January next year. It deserves repetition that both the parties advanced their arguments before the court on the expected lines.

While GCMMF reasoned that the no-confidence resolution against Chaudhary passed by a majority of the board members should be implemented without delay, Chaudhary’s argument was as per the bye-laws of the federation there was no provision of adopting such a resolution against the chairman nor was this provided for in the Gujarat Cooperative Society Act.

Meanwhile, the state govt. of Gujarat has submitted before the High Court an enquiry report detailing charges of corruption against Vipul Chaudhary as the head of Mehsana District Milk Producers’ Union.

Among other things, Mr. Chaudhary has been charged with a bungle of the cattle feed production and causing a loss of Rs. 200 crore to the dairy union.
