The Accountant General Manager (AGM) of Dudhsagar Dairy, Rashmikant Modi, has been arrested in connection with a cheating case to the tune of Rs 22.50 crore.
“Rashmikant Modi, AGM of Dudhsagar Dairy, one of the dairy co-operative unions, was arrested yesterday,” a police officer said.
Vipul Chaudhary, who was ousted as chairman of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), is the chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy, one of the union members of the parent organisation.
Dudhsagar Dairy cooperative milk union has been in the news due to dwindling milk output in the recent years. There are also allegations of mal-practices against the Chairman Vipul Chaudhary.
The Gujarat High Court has asked for thorough probe against the corruption charges against the Chairman who was opposed by the whole lot of Board members of GCMMF for his some of the controvercial decisions including sending cattle-feed worth Rs 22 crore to the Maharashtra.
