Nishit Baxi MD of Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union aka Dudhsagar Dairy has said his company’s turnover has shown an uptick exceeding 12 percent in the current fiscal. He said this while addressing the 53rd annual general meeting of the cooperative the other day.
According to Mr Baxi, the company’s total milk procurement including collection from Haryana and Rajasthan has had an upswing of a whopping 17 percent. The Dudhsagar Dairy intends raising further its milk procurement through full utilization of all its plants outside Gujarat, he noted.
The Dudhsagar Dairy is a leading member of GCMMF producing various milk products under ‘Amul’ and ‘Sagar’ brands.
The MD said the company is so intent on business expansion, it has set up its ‘Dudhsagar national office’ at Jaipur and begun milk processing already last year at Daruhera plant in Haryana.
Mr Baxi announced the setting up of an academic center in memory of late Vergese Kurien father of India’s white revolution. The center would offer all possible facilities including accommodation and library facilities to students studying at Mansinhbhai Institute of Dairy and Food Technology, he said.
