In a mail sent to Indian Cooperative desk he said “there is not much emphasis on cooperative in the Union Budget 2015. Only thing they mentioned regarding cooperative is that cooperatives will be in tax bracket in future but no specifications or timeline have been mentioned.”
Zamwar who is also the Chairman international cooperative alliance (Asia pacific) youth committee, however finds that the Union budget is balanced as more autonomies have been given to the states. These ideas are good but there is no proper road map yet, he added.
Zamwar who doubles as the Vice president of global youth network on cooperative laments that there is no administrative reforms as these are urgently needed. He also rues that there is nothing for rural area such as rural housing or rural infrastructure.
Only good thing is food processing sector will have less taxation. “I think in States budget they will cover rest of things as per their requirements. SEBI will control the speculation in commodity market which is good for long term progress. So all in all it is a balanced and progressive budget”, Zamwar concluded.
