Dear Sir,
I am a resident of G+4 stand alone building in Kolkata, West Bengal. There are 14 flats and 3 shops, 1 garage and 1 unused shop/garage.
We have not yet formed any co-operative housing society. Please let me know what is the procedure? Do we really have to form any society?

In order to maintain common property there has to be an organisation jointly owned and managed collectively. If you do not have one and still managing even then it is an unregistered association of persons. If you have no difficulty in running things there is no compulsion under any law to go for one.
