We are school friends, working in different fields who want to form a co-operative society in Una Distt. of Himachal Pradesh. Can you please guide us how can we proceed further for the same.
And what type of activities can we undertake through this Society.

It is good that you and your friends are thinking of working to gather for sub-serving a common economic interest through a formal organisation and there is nothing like cooperative society for that cause.
Under the Himachal Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act 1968 a society, which has as its objects the promotion of the economic and social interests of its members, or the public, in accordance will co-operative principles can be registered.
Certain basics are to be understood to develop and attain the objective of registration of a society.
Every State is expected under our Constitution to encourage Cooperative Societies working on the basis of the principles of voluntary formation, democratic member-control, member-economic participation and autonomous functioning
Every State has set up organisation headed by the Registrar with a host of subordinates to assist the Registrar all over the State. You have to approach a nearest office of the Registrar of Societies of the State with a scheme of achieving any economic object or a social objective.
You should describe your project bringing about goals and means of achieving the same. Your friends (at least ten) have to seat together and brainstorm as to what economic or social activity is an area of their keen interest and have some skill and insight. Develop 5 ideas and mull over to reach to unanimity on one idea. Prepare a feasibility report and present to the head of the nearest office of the Registrar. Anything under the sun and on earth can be achieved through cooperative it depends on your collective intense desire. Rest will fall in place as you go along.
