I would like to understand co-operative society voting procedure in a meeting. When I read the by-laws it states
“27. Voting powers of members.- (1) Save as otherwise provided in sub-section (2) to (7), both inclusive, no member of any society shall have more than one vote in its affairs; and every right to vote shall be exercised personally and not by proxy:”
Appreciate if you may please confirm by the term “personally” does it refer to physical presence or electronic medium presence will do?

Your reading of the provision is correct.
No Power of Attorney holder also can vote I general body meeting.
If you are inconvenienced by this provision there is a small gate way to it as provided in sub-section (2) of that Section namley:
(2) Where a share of a society is held jointly by more than one person, the person whose name stands first in the share certificate, if present, shall have the right to vote. But in his absence the person whose name stands second, and in the absence of both, the person whose name stands next, and likewise, in the absence of the preceding persons the person whose name is next on the share certificate, who is present and who is not a minor, shall have the right to vote.
A person (competent to enter in to contract) can become an Associate member by making an application to the Society, in the form prescribed under registered bye- laws of your housing society, upon payment of Admission Fee of Rs 100/-. If your housing society’s registered bye laws are as per Model 2014, then the person must be a Joint holder of the flat.
