As reported in the Times of India dated 02.02.2015, I seek your valuable guidance in Cooperative society that :

Associate member can participate in Election and become member of Managing Committee panel

Sir, once he becomes member of Managing Committee Panel, whether he is ELIGIBLE to become Office Bearer to become SECRETARY?

In the said The Times of India dated 02.02.2015

I quote :

“The state cooperative election authority [SCEA] clarified that an associate member can vote and participate in election but cannot become the office-bearer of the society where his name appears as an associate member in the society register.

Section 2 [19] of the Maharashtra Societies Act says an Associate member jointly holds a share certificate of the society with others but whose name is not first in the share certificate , Rule 56 M  of the Maharashtra Cooperative societies Rules, 1961, and section 2 [19] [b] of the Maharashtra Cooperative societies Rules, 1960, state an associate member can vote and participate in election but cannot become the office-bearer of the society where his name appears as an associate member in the society. .. Unquote

Sir I shall feel obliged if you kindly give your expert opinion in the matter that WHETHER AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER [JT. MEMBER] who name is 2nd in Share certificate is ELIGIBLE TO BECOME OFFICE-BEARER, SECRETARY OF THE SOCIETY.
