As per the new GR dated 30.10.2018 it is clear that an ‘associate member’ cannot be a committee member any more but can only vote.
1 Should a member whose name stands second on the share certificate be called an ‘Associate member’ or ‘Joint member’?
2 What are the rights of a joint member? Can he become a committee member?
I request you to share your knowledge and insight on this as the GR itself has not specified clearly whether a Joint Member can contest elections or not.

It is not a GR. It is an Act. Associate cannot be on MC.
1. Please inform whether Associate/ joint holder can become the office bearer.
2. Whether the new committee can start functioning without joint meeting with the outgoing committee and no handover/ take over has taken place .
3. Whether the internal auditor is required to be appointed having more than 100members.
