We have a federation of 9 societies.
The term of the federal committee was for 3 years as per our system since long and the term of the committee expired on 6 Nov 2013.
Many of the MC members representing MC of respective societies are not elected as per the procedure.
Now, this Federal Committee has done huge expenses in lacs of Rupees and to which we have raised our objection as the expenses were on higher side and not necessary.
This committee has called MC meeting to approve the expenses and to start a process of election of new committee.
Whether this MC has any authority to conduct MC meetings or to conduct elections? Please guide .

As the Committees of Primary Cooperatives were allowed to continue till elections are held by SCEA State Cooperative Election Authority) even after expiry of 5 years (even if the original tenure was 3 years) these Committees will continue as if their tenure has not expired. So the MC can meet as usual. Elections will now be held by State Level Authority and no other body or society has powers to hold elections in Cooperative Societies.
