I am staying in Mumbai in a co-operative society. In our society about 10 flats out of 14 flats have been purchased by a builder and the managing committee of the society is consisting of the builders representative. In order to force us to sell our flats to that builders, the managing committee has not paid the water charges to the municipal corporation for long time. Hence, the municipal corporation has disconnected the water line.
On consulting lawyers, we were given different advises by different lawyers. Someone told us to file writ petition in High Court to seek interim relief for restoration of water connection by municipal corporation. Another advise we got is to file a suit in city civil court against the managing committee and also seek interim relief for restoration of water supply. The other advise we got is to file a suit in co-operative court against the managing committee.
Can you guide us how should we approach this situation such that we get the water supply restored immediately and also seek action against the managing committee?

The suggestion to approach High Court sounds best as water dis-connection is a serious issue. BMC may also get a reprimand as it smacks of a criminal conspiracy to deprive people of water a basic utility in an illegal manner.
