Grill in the kitchen!

Sanjay Gohil

I have been living in Maharashtra from past 30 years. About 12 years ago we got an accommodation in SRA project. I have a flats on 1st floor, we reside 6 person in a room, we have a joint family with mother, father, brother and myself.

After my marriage we use to sleep in kitchen area, but in kitchen area we have problem of heating at night time, and about 4 years ago we were blessed with a baby girl, it is really a very big problem to stay in a kitchen with a small kid.

Last year on 10th September 2014 I created a window in the kitchen wall and made box grill which can be opened for cleaning.  Below the window is the meter room.

We kept openable grill only for cleaning purpose. But our society committee members are forcing me to close this grill. I have asked them to provide me a letter of objection; instead they are demanding letter from me committing that I am going to close the grill. They have threatened me that they are going to complain against me in the police station.

Making any changes in the flat built as per approved plan requires prior approval of the committee; depending on the nature even approval of Local Body is also required. So better persuade the chairman/secretary to appreciate your difficulty and request them to accommodate as much as possible within the framework of law. CHS functions in a spirit of mutual cooperation and not by fight.
