I am a bonafide member of a Group Housing Society situated in Dwarka,New Delhi. Recently, the Management Committee of our society has decided to extend the balconies[ total no.2] appx. upto 200 feet in total without taking any mandate from the members.
They think that by this extension the value of the flat will increase Rs.10 to 15 Lacs and most of the committee members will then sell the flat and move away leaving us behind with ugly facade and less greenary. In this process appx 30 existing car parking will be abolished and these car parking will replace the existing garden where children are playing.
My first question to you is whether they can carry extension activities arbitrarily? And secondly, whether we can be forced to pay for the extension. Almost half of the members are against such step.
What remedy we have to address our issues?

These constructions require prior approval of Civil Authorities and aggrieved member should approach the right Department. A Majority also may not be able to prevent.
