I am from Mumbai. My wife is a member of a co operative HSG society of 49 members in which we reside. My wife is the sole member and the share certificate contains her name only. It was so for the purpose of arranging loan from her employer.
Till date the share certificate contains her name only. Since we have to procure loans on the mortgage of the flat from time to time for various reasons we have not added my name to the share certificate to avoid delay and complications while seeking loans. I am a retired person. Now the society committee does not allow me to attend the General Body meetings. Our society was formed in1993 and adopted model bylaw 1960.
CAN THE SOCIETY BAR THE HUSBAND FROM ATTENDING GENERAL BODY MEETINGS
If SO HOW CAN I BECOME AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER WITHOUT ADDING MY NAME TO THE SHARE CERTIFICATE.
KINDLY ADVISE ME SIR
