India’s dairy major, Amul, will sponsor the Afghanistan cricket team for the 2019 World Cup, which begins in England later this month, reports Sportstar.
The official announcement will be made in New Delhi next Tuesday, but Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) CEO, Asadullah Khan, has confirmed the media outlet.
“Amul will be our sponsor for the World Cup. As of now, it is only for the World Cup. We will be meeting the top brass of the company next week and then talk about the future (long-term association),” Khan said.
Though Afghanistan participated in the 2015 World Cup as an associate nation, this will be the first time it will feature in a tournament as a full-member.
