On March 23rd, 2024, the Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative hosted a one-day special workshop at the “Souharda Sahakari Soudha” on Margosa Road in Malleswaram, Bangalore. The workshop focused on educating Chartered Accountants (CAs) and auditors on the format and guidelines pertinent to Souharda Cooperatives.
The event commenced with an inauguration by Shri Suresh Rao, KAS, Director of Co-operative Audit at the Cooperative Department in Bengaluru. Mr. Nanjana Gowda, CA, President of KSSFCL, presided over the proceedings. Notable attendees included Mr. A R Prasanna Kumar, Vice President of KSSFCL, Mr. B S Gundurao, C P Vijay Director of KSSFCL, along with Chartered Accountants Mr. Madhukar Hegde and Mr. K Sridhar, Joint Director of Audit at the Cooperative Societies Department in Bangalore.
During the workshop, Shri Suresh Rao emphasized the significance of such platforms for exchanging meaningful feedback. He highlighted the benefits of the training program for all participating delegates.
Mr. Madhukara Hegde and Mr. K. Sridhar delivered lectures covering various topics including financial disciplines for cooperatives, common issues encountered during audits, relevant audit department circulars, and auditor responsibilities.
A total of 70 delegates actively participated in the workshop, gaining valuable insights and knowledge aimed at enhancing audit practices within Souharda Cooperatives.
