A protest strike launched by workers of Large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS) and Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS), seems to have run aground with differences cropping up between the members following conflicting statements from the office bearers of the forum leading the agitation, reports Odisha Tvin.
The agitating LAMPS and PACS workers met Odisha Food Supplies and Cooperation Minister Surya Narayan Patro to discuss their demands.
After the meeting Advisor of Samabaya Samiti Karmachari Milita Mancha, leading the strike, Matru Prasad Mishra called off the strike.
However, Odisha Samabaya Karmachari Samnya Samati’s President, Ghanashyma Jena claimed the strike has not been withdrawn and decision will be taken after holding talks with the association members.
The LAMPS and PACS workers have been agitating for the past 27 days demanding regularization of their jobs.
