Cooperative law in Japan has reached a watershed moment with the Draft Worker Cooperatives Act now submitted to the House of Representatives, tweets ICA Asia-Pacific.
The Draft of the Act has the support from all parties & factions and is being spearheaded by the Japan Cooperative Alliance & Japan Workers’ Cooperative Union, it claims.
The Act will contribute to the “realisation of sustainable and vibrant communities” through worker coops, reflecting the 7th Coop Principle Community Concern & the SDGs.
This landmark event marks a positive move for worker coops and the entire Coop movement.
