Kerala government will not close down any co-operative banks while forming the Kerala Bank, minister for cooperation said while inaugurating a project by the Ernakulam District Co-operative Bank reports Times of India.
The Kerala Bank aimed at mobilizing and channelizing the funds of Malayalis all over the world for the development of Kerala, would soon become a reality, the minister said.
The minister said the co-operative sector in Kerala has been a role model for the entire country. However, it is a pity that the sector has not been able to attract the youth.
Blasting the central govt the minister said the Centre’s aim has been to create huge banks and so merger of banks would go on.
