Hundreds of cooperators gathered recently to cast their votes to elect the administrative panel of Vamanpuram Cooperative Bank in Kerala -an event that flouted the standing order issued by the authorities to avoid public gathering, reports New Indian Express.
The voting went on until it was stopped by the district collector.
The election was being held after the previous governing body moved the court and secured a favourable ruling.
Nearly 4,000 voters had turned up but because of the district collector’s intervention only 1,400 voters could cast their votes.
