The world’s fertilizer sector celebrated the Global Fertilizer Day on October 13 by organizing several programmes across the world. Tweeting on the occasion IFFCO’s Managing Director said we need fertilizers to produce enough food for growing global population.

The crops need right combination of nutrients #nitrogen, #phosphorus & #potassium along with micro-nutrients to grow in healthy manner. Balanced use of fertilizers is must”.
The Indian Fertilizer Association (IFA) President Rakesh Kapoor who doubles as IFFCO Joint MD stressed on adapting fertilizer use to soil requirements and innovations to improve use efficiency of fertilizers. Norway based fertilizer co-op Yara International said in its tweet that agriculture is key to society and fertilizers help provide more food to more people.
Some of the experts such as Former Chairman of FAI R G Rajan felt that this is the day when we remember the role of Indian Fertilizer industry in the Green Revolution. Let us work towards balanced use of Fertilizers by farmers so that productivity can rise & Government’s plan of doubling farmers’ income becomes a reality, he said in a tweet.
