Millennium post reports West Bengal government will hold a special campaign at branches of 19 banks in the state from November 2 to 10 with a view to giving loans to over 20 thousand beneficiaries under the West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme (WBSCCS).
It is said the remaining 39 per cent cases will be covered at the camps from November 2 to 10.
Official sources say under the WBSCCS, a student can obtain a maximum loan of Rs 10 lakhs at 4 per cent per annum simple interest from various cooperative banks including the State Cooperative Bank.
The scheme was announced by the state government in the state budget for 2023-24.
