Replacing Amit Singh, Maharashtra cooperative leader Vivek Kolhe has emerged as the youngest Director, elected in the recently concluded elections at the world’s largest cooperative IFFCO. He came in place of Devendra Reddy from the constituency of Maharashtra-Telangana and Goa.
A product of the sugar cooperative, Kohle is the Chairman of Sahkar Maharshi Shankarao Kolhe Co-operative Sugar Factory. Held influential in his area, Kohle is regarded for his commitment to cooperative growth of sugar farmers.
Kohle won uncontested from a constituency which encompassed Maharashtra, Telangana and Goa. He had tried his luck in the last elections also but lost by a very narrow margin. This time, as he has grown in stature and size, it was a smooth sail for him.
Soon after his victory, he talked to the Indian Cooperative and shared his vision for the growth of cooperatives in the country.
