The villagers of Bhingrad in Champawat district of Uttarakhand have launched a protest for opening a branch of Pithoragarh District Cooperative Bank in their area.
Due to lack of banking services, villagers have to face problems. If their demand is not fulfilled then they will launch a much stronger agitation, villagers warned.
They said that Pithoragarh District Cooperative Bank has eight branches in Champawat district, but due to not having a single branch in the Ladhiya valley, farmers have to go 40 km away for agricultural loans and other banking works.
Villagers said that the people of the area have already met with the competent authorities about this demand, but the problem has not been resolved.
