In the recently held Cooperative Conference in Nashik, which was addressed by Union Minister Amit Shah, the role of Vamnicom in training JCOs was in focus.
A unique aspect of the conference was the participation of Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Rank Officers (ORs) from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. These officers are undergoing a two-month Resettlement Course on Innovation & Agribusiness Management at VAMNICOM, Pune
As part of their hands-on training, the officers attended the conference and visited the Venkateshwara Cooperative Society. This exposure provided them with first hand experience of India’s cooperative landscape, highlighting opportunities in agribusiness and entrepreneurial innovation.
During the visit, participants explored cutting-edge agricultural practices, modern infrastructure, and sustainable business models. These interactions underscored how cooperatives can serve as a catalyst for rural development, financial inclusion, and economic collaboration. Inspired by these insights, many participants are now envisioning their own ventures in agribusiness.
The Resettlement Course by VAMNICOM reflects the government’s commitment to supporting retiring armed forces personnel. By fostering leadership skills and technical expertise, the program empowers them to seamlessly transition into the agribusiness sector.
The event also recognized the contributions of the Venkateshwara Multi-State Cooperative Society, founded in 2019 by ex-servicemen and farmers. The society stands as a testament to the power of cooperatives in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and uplifting rural communities.
