Vamnicom conducted a national webinar on “Landmark Reforms in Indian Agricultural Marketing: Challenges, Opportunities and a Way Forward” recently. Dr K. K. Tripathy, Director welcomed the guests and set the context for the National Webinar.
The program was inaugurated by Dr Ashok Dalwai, CEO, NRAA and Chairman of the DFI Committee. The objective of the program was to create awareness among cooperatives and farmers producers’ organisations and other relevant stakeholders on the important aspects of the recent three Agri reforms.
Dr Dalwai highlighted the importance of these reforms in the 21st Century and linked the developments with the overall trends in the agricultural and allied sectors’ production system.
The panel of speakers consisted of five experts viz. Pradipta Kumar Sahoo, Business Head, Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetable Pvt Ltd.; Pasha Patel, farmers’ leader and Ex-Chairman, CACP, Maharashtra; Pankaj Kumar, Additional Managing Director, NAFED; Manoj Patel, DGM, Gujarat State Cooperative Bank; and Yogesh Thorat Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MAHA-FPC who shared their views on the agri-reforms and their implications for agribusiness industry, farmers, cooperatives, financing institutions and FPOs, respectively.
The program was jointly coordinated by Prof D V Deshpande and Dr S K Wadkar of VAMNICOM. About 90 officials from academia, public & private institutions, financial institutions, Cooperatives, FPOs and other stakeholders participated in the program.
