Vaidyanath Urban Co-op Bank gets “clean chit”

The CBI has filed a closure report in the alleged suspicious transport of illegal demonetized currency of Rs 25 crore by office bearers of Vaidyanath Urban Co-operative Bank in Maharashtra- a cooperative bank controlled by a BJP parliamentarian.

A source is quoted claiming account books of the bank and its branches scrutinized by the investigators were found “clean”.  The investigative agency alsopronounced Dr Suresh Advani an oncologist decorated with Padma Bhushan Award , not guilty, reports Indian Express.

The case began already during demonetisation in November 2016 probed by several agencies. The case related to carrying Rs 10 crore in old and new currency, which was seized.
