Inaugurating Uttarakhand’s first women’s branch of a co-operative bank chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said it is a model that needs to be replicated in every panchayat, block and town of the state, reports Press Trust of India.
The chief minister said, all women co-operative banks will not only lead to improvement in the functioning of banks but also go a long way in ending a male skew in sex ratio, at least in some parts of Uttarakhand.
Greeting the women employees of the newly opened branch, the chief minister called upon women to prove their excellence in all fields.
In his remarks, Uttarakhand co-operative minister said co-operative banks will provide a loan of Rs 1 lakh at 2 per cent interest for agricultural purposes.
