With an objective to improve the conditions of cooperative sugar mills in Uttarakhand, the state government is planning to install ethanol plants in the cooperative sugar mills of the state.
This was announced in a meeting chaired by State Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat organized on Friday in Dehradun.
The government will provide interest free loans to the mills for setting up the plants. In this connection, the state government has submitted its report to the Chennai based Avant Mart Company.
Speaking to media persons, “Former MLA Dr. Shailendra Mohan Singhal said that there are four sugar mills of the cooperative department in the state, which are going through a bad patch. To improve their conditions, the state government has decided to manufacture ethanol in sugar mills”.
“This will result in additional income of the mills and farmers will also be able to get cane prices soon”, he added.
