In preparation for the International Cooperative Year 2025, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed District Magistrates to prioritize forming 601 new Multipurpose Primary Agriculture Cooperatives (MPACS), Dairy, and Fisheries Societies statewide.
Chairing a State Cooperative Development Committee meeting, she emphasized creating an MSP framework for Jhangora, like Mandua, to promote local grains. She urged swift MoU signings for supplying food grains, vegetables, milk, and meat to the SSB and Army.
To enhance agriculture in border districts, she called for millet cultivation on vacant land. Stressing active participation in International Cooperative Year events, she encouraged local cooperatives to organize conferences and exhibitions. The meeting included top state officials and District Magistrates.
