Uttarakhand Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat who was present on the occasion of the announcement of schedule of IICTF at Jawahar Bhawan in Delhi on Thursday, thanked NCDC for helping the state launch a massive co-operative reconstruction movement.
“I first thank NCDC for organizing a mega trade fair and giving an opportunity to National and International cooperatives to showcase their products and inputs under one roof. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to NCDC for making Uttarakhand a partner of the event”, he said.
Talking about the goal of strengthening farmers as well as cooperatives in Uttarakhand and NCDC’s crucial help, Rawat informed that more than 9 lakh farmers are associated with these and to double their income state govt has launched a scheme to give them loans of up to 1-5 lakh at zero rate of interest.
And to strengthen about 5 thousand women self-groups, our government is giving loans of up to Rs 5 lakhs at Zero rate of interest”, he recounted.
“In our state we are moving towards organic farming and in about 9 districts we are already doing organic farming. In a span of 2 years, we will make Uttarakhand a center of organic farming. After assuming office as the Cooperative Minister, I have organized a seven day trade fair in our state and we are in the process of organizing a trade fair in every district of Uttarakhand”, he stressed.
