Uttar Pradesh PACCs will soon sell the generic medicines and in this regard the cooperative department is shortlisting PACCs, media reports say.
For selling the generic medicines, medical stores will be opened in 631 PACCs in the first phase. The Cooperative Department will run the scheme of selling generic medicines from PACCs like Jan Aushadhi Center under the Ayushmann Sahakar Scheme.
This initiative of the department will provide medicines to the villagers at cheap rates and will help them avoid travels to the cities for minor diseases.
According to the Additional Chief Secretary Co-operative MVS 631 PACCs have been selected for medical stores in the first phase. The operation of a medical store for the sale of generic drugs at each PACCs will cost around Rs 10 to 15 lakhs. For this, a loan will be taken from the National Cooperative Development Corporation.
Political observers say that the election of the legislative assembly of UP will be conducted next year and the government will lure voters by opening medical stores in PACCs because a huge number of villages are directly connected with these PACCs.
