Govt officials have urged farmers in Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu to use scores of cooperative warehouses available in the district to store their produce while awaiting good price in the market, reports Hindu.
A govt press release says 157 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies and seven Agricultural Producers Cooperative Marketing Societies in the district have 230 warehouses of each 100 Metric Tonne (MT) capacity, five warehouses of 500 MT capacity, three warehouses of 1000 MT capacity and one warehouse of 2,000 MT capacity.
The warehouses were built with the help of Rural Infrastructure Development Fund and Warehouse Infrastructure Fund of NABARD.
