Biscomaun centre at Nawada district of Bihar witnessed massive mayhem as farmers fought with each other to be the first to buy urea. In the absence of police force, people employed batons, stones or whatever came handy to beat up each other.
“You can witness such friendly WWF championship among farmers at almost all our centres due to the fixed rate at which Biscomaun Chairman sells urea”, commented its Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh on the incident.
Farmers of the area had queued up for urea since early morning but as the shop opened there was a scene of stampede. In the neighbourhood, urea is being sold at Rs 400 a bag while we sell it at Rs 265, said Sunil explaining the reason for such mayhem.
TV channels reported that locals tried to dominate the counter and disallowed farmers to buy urea, leading to the scuffle.
