The Isspur Agriculture Cooperative Society in Una district is seeking to take physical possession of land and properties from loan defaulters to recover Rs 14 crore in bad loans, mainly from small farmers, reports the Tribune.
Despite an order from the Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Society, the society has faced difficulties in executing the order. President Suraj Pathak stated they would seek police assistance to recover the properties.
During the December 22 annual meeting, concerns were raised over unpaid loans, causing hardship for depositors. The society plans to give defaulters one month to repay, or face property seizures and potential auctions if payments remain unpaid.
