ULCCS plans Co-op University; awaits approval

In celebration of its centenary, the Uralungal Labour Contractors’ Cooperative Society (ULCCS) unveiled plans for an innovative cooperative sector university.

Chairman Rameshan Paleri, at a ‘Meet the Press’ event, announced the initiative, awaiting government approval.

Paleri stressed the need for a practical education shift. Established in 1925, the ULCCS has evolved into a global cooperative giant, diversifying into Cyber Park and Craft Villages.

Ranked second globally, it operates on principles set by Vagbhadananda. The ULCCS, with 18,000 members, plans international forums and seminars for its centenary celebrations, emphasizing employment for all members.

With a rich history, the ULCCS has completed 7,500 projects, spanning roads, bridges, and buildings, boasting a turnover of ?2,399 crore. ULCCS also bagged top ranking in the recently announced World Cooperative Monitor Report of ICA.
