The Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) in Rajasthan are actively participating in the National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC), which is poised to serve as an umbrella organization for UCBs across the country. The total contribution from Rajasthan’s UCBs to the NUCFDC has reached Rs 2.75 crore, with expectations of further contributions from more banks in the state.
Out of 35 UCBs in Rajasthan, 13 have either contributed or have proposed to contribute towards the share capital of the NUCFDC. Notably, the major contributions have come from Adarsh Cooperative Bank, Sirohi, which contributed Rs 1 crore, and Udaipur Mahila Samridhi Bank, which contributed Rs 50 lakh.
In addition, Jalore Nagarik Sahakari Bank contributed Rs 40 lakh, Fingrowth Cooperative Bank contributed Rs 25 lakh, and Chittorgarh Urban Cooperative Bank contributed Rs 20 lakh. Additionally, Bundi Urban Cooperative Bank and Udaipur Mahila Urban Cooperative Bank each contributed Rs 10 lakh.
The Rajasthan Urban Cooperative Banks Federation has also shown its support, contributing Rs 2 lakh to the NUCFDC. It is reported that several other UCBs in the state are in the process of planning their contributions to the umbrella organization.
This collective participation highlights the growing commitment of Rajasthan’s UCBs to strengthen their cooperative framework, support the NUCFDC, and enhance the overall stability and growth of the urban cooperative banking sector.
