Sixteen persons, including top officials of two agriculture cooperative societies along with some farmers have been arrested by CID sleuths in connection with an alleged fraud in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, according to PTI.
Those arrested included two presidents of as many single-window agriculture cooperative societies based in the district, four of their directors, two officials and eight farmers.
Chengal Reddy, president of Anantampalli single-window co-op society, his counterpart in Anantaiahgaripalli society Rambhoopal Reddy, besides directors and officials were arrested last evening for sanctioning loans on fake documents, he added.
