India’s first consumer cooperative Triplicane Urban Cooperative Society (TUCS) –in Tamil Nadu which began working in 1904 is presently experiencing a financial crisis, reports Hans India.
The state gov owes it an outstanding sum of Rs 30 crore. The society had supplied the Amma canteens with vegetables, groceries and LPG cylinders during the lockdown period.
It is said the society’s financial situation is so bad that its staff salary payments are getting unduly delayed.
