Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu will open today a meet in Pune where agrarian economists will discuss agricultural trade policies and transfer of technology from labs to land, reports Press Trust of India.
A number of dignitaries including Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Radha Mohan Singh, Sharad Pawar and a galaxy of agricultural scientists will attend the event.
The vice president will also attend the two-day National Consultation on Making Agriculture Sustainable and Profit which is being organised by the Indian Institute of Public Administration.
A source says agrarian experts are expected to hammer out a comprehensive policy framework for effecting a major transformation of the farm sector.
