The Centre for Gender Studies at VAMNICOM recently organized a two day Training Program titled “Financial Literacy Program for Women in the Development Sector, says a press release issued by the Center.
More than 35 women participants from 7 States like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala participated in this NABARD Sponsored program. The participants were from Banks, Credit societies, Microfinance institutions, State Rural Livelihoods Mission and leading NGOs in the field of collective action.
Smt. R Vimla, CEO, State Rural Livelihoods Mission was the chief guest for the program who shed light on the benefits of collectivization, briefing on the importance of financial literacy in financial as well as social inclusion.
Important aspects of book keeping, savings, borrowings, digital literacy, and awareness about social schemes, financial inclusion and bank Sakhi were deliberated upon in the technical sessions. The program was designed and implemented by Ms Anshu Singh, Faculty Member, Centre for Gender Studies, VAMNICOM.
The program was highly appreciated by the Chief Guest and participants for highlighting the topic of Financial Literacy for Women in the Development Sector.
