Trademark infringement: Delhi HC rules in favour of Amul

In a significant ruling on trademark infringement, the Delhi High Court has granted an injunction in favour of Amul, India’s largest dairy brand, against Italian company Terre Primitive.

The Italian firm was marketing cookies and chocolate-coated biscuits under the brand name “Amuleti,” which closely resembled Amul’s trademark.

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation filed the lawsuit, prompting Justice Mini Pushkarna to prohibit the use of any similar mark and order the removal of infringing products from the firm’s website.

Meta Inc. was also directed to block social media accounts promoting the infringing products.
