The Tamil Nadu Department of Cooperation has established 2,082 multi-service centers, transforming Primary Agriculture Cooperative Credit Societies (PACCS) into hubs that offer technological, logistical, and equipment support to farmers, reports the New Indian Express.
This initiative, part of a Rs 339.27 crore project, aims to reduce farming expenses and has converted half of the state’s 4,453 PACCS.
The centers were funded by loans from NABARD, enhancing the broader support infrastructure for agriculture in the state.
