TMC gains majority in Belakoba Co-op elections

In a dramatic twist, two independent winners joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during cooperative elections in Belakoba Krishi Samanay Samiti, helping the party secure a majority, media reports say.

Initially, TMC won 4 seats, BJP 3, and independents 2 in the 9-seat contest. After counting, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy welcomed the independents, shifting the tally to TMC 6 and BJP 3.

Held at Belakoba Sariam Kalibari SC Primary School, the election had 324 voters and candidates from TMC, BJP, CPM, and independents. TMC now forms the board.
