The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has accused the ruling CPI(M) of using illicit tactics to seize control of cooperative banks, including alleged voter fraud and employing criminals, media reports say.
Following these accusations, the UDF announced it would withdraw the support it had extended to the Kerala state government to address cooperative sector issues.
Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, V D Satheesan, specifically pointed to the recent Thumpamon Cooperative Bank election, claiming that CPI(M) workers committed voter fraud with the assistance of goons and criminals.
