Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar recently said the Thane District Cooperative Bank, which offers its services in Thane and Palghar districts, would not be split into two, reports PTI.
Addressing a function in Dahanu, the deputy chief minister Pawar said the bank should first be strengthened as managing small banks was not an easy task.
Pawar argued splitting banks benefits only the activists of political parties who get seats on boards but the banks themselves do not benefit.
