With the support of the Reserve Bank of India, Telangana State Coop Urban Banks Federation successfully organized a Training Program on Exchange of Soiled and Mutilated Notes exclusively for Gayatri Urban Cooperative Bank recently. Conducted in two batches, the half-day program trained a total of 80 staff members.
Sri SVNB Bhadra Raju from the Issue Department, RBI, Hyderabad, led the session, explaining the classification of notes into Full Value, Half Value, and Zero Value.
He also detailed the criteria for soiled notes, their exchange procedures at bank branches and RBI Issue Offices, and the types of notes that cannot be exchanged, such as burned, altered, or tampered notes.
Federation President Vemireddy Narasimha Reddy, Working President G Madana Gopala Swamy, and Vice-President Pramod Kumar Kedia expressed gratitude to RBI for supporting the initiative and deputing their expert on a Sunday (holiday). This ensured full participation of cashiers, who otherwise find it difficult to attend during regular working days.
The program concluded successfully with the distribution of certificates to participants.
