Telangana Padi Rythula Sangham, the cooperative dairy, has called on the state government to persuade the central government to remove GST on packaged milk and dairy products, and also on the equipment used for producing them, reports New Indian Express.
The cooperative argued it would impose a huge enormous burden on the cooperative dairy societies and dairy farmers in Telangana. The Sangham has started collecting signatures on the issue.
Meanwhile, the milk cooperative wants the state govt to offer them soon Rs 4 subsidy per litre to milk farmers as well as subsidies on the distribution of buffaloes to the beneficiaries.
